Definition and design of conventional railway installations in direct current and high-speed railway installations in alternating current. Our field of action is the railway facilities, considering these as those that supply the necessary energy to vehicles or trains. Voltrain has extensive experience in the design of direct current and alternating current railway installations at different frequency levels. We carry out from feasibility studies, technical preliminary projects, basic projects, construction projects including legalization projects, from their most basic design and preparation to their follow-up in the execution of work. Linked to these projects, we carry out specialized electrification annexes, measurements and work evaluations, as well as study of work tenders for construction companies and technical-economic analysis.

Metropolitan

Definition of metropolitan facilities, tramways, trolleybus, rack railway in any of its electrification systems: overhead contact line, rigid, retractable catenary, etc. Within the railway facilities there is metropolitan transport, such as trams, subways, trolleybuses, rack trains, etc., whose philosophy regarding the electrification system may be closely linked, but its detailed engineering differs in the system itself to use, either overhead, rigid, retractable catenary, etc. Voltrain has the experience for the development and execution of projects of all these metropolitan systems, from the most generalized scope, to the highest degree of detail.

Design, calculation and projection of traction substations for direct current railway power supply, as well as for conventional power or distribution substations. Within the railway facilities and their power supply and in line with the actions defined in the previous section, in addition to conducting specific studies of catenary systems, we carry out studies and analysis of both traction and power supply and distribution substations. Traction substations are those intended for installations purely designed in direct current while for those designed in alternating current the concept of traction disappears, being called purely power substations. In addition, we also carry out projects for power distribution substations, electrical connections and distribution lines.
